PRESS: Pay card transactions in Russia double to 42 tln rbl since 2012

MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- The volume of payment card transactions in Russia doubled to 41.84 trillion rubles over the past five years and their number rose 3.5-fold to 20.4 billion units, Izvestiya business daily reported on Tuesday.

The number of ATM cash withdrawal operations slid to raise the share of non-cash payments to 38%. The share of non-cash payments may increase to over 50% in the next few years.

A total of 268.5 million payment cards have been issued in Russia, of which 157.6 million are actively used, Izvestiya reported citing the central bank’s data.
